Very Fast Electric Scooters
The latest craze in fun and adventure these days is the use of very fast electric scooters. Especially with gas prices on the rise, and the state of the economy as a whole, what could be better for fun and possibly cheaper transportation and a fast joy ride? In my neighborhood, I see kids and adults alike cruising around on them all the time.
Although many will immediately dismiss electric 2 wheel scooters as nothing more then a child’s toy or a kids chance for some cheap thrills, there are many levels of electric scooters, and more uses then one can imagine…and manufacturer’s know this as well and do a good job trying to tailor to many of these needs…Just look at the many styles, makes and models of your scooters today. Not even taking gas scooters into the equation, you can find everything from small 2 wheel, folding kiddy style scooters, all the way to 100% street legal (don’t take on the highway) electric scooters as well…and what is more green then eliminating gas from the entire equation.
So what are some of the best makes in the electric scooter arenas? Well probably the most well known are the Razor, Schwinn, and Gyro…All three will have various makes and models and depending on your price point and what the purpose of the scooter is, each will have many offerings to choose from. I personally ordered my electric scooter online due to the ease of purchasing etc…You will have maximum selection and the ability to shop anytime, anywhere (save some gas by not driving around to multiple stores looking for a scooter). Most of the time the scooters will come at least 95% assembled with very detailed instructions to complete the job. Free shipping is usually available as well, so don’t worry about any additional charge for something like that. The money saved on an online purchase far outweighs the short assembly time required to get your new scooter ready to go…I am by far bit the most “tool time,” type person, however my final assembly was less than an hour…
The only thing to remember, and maybe the most important thing is to know what your scooter will be used for and by whom. If you are looking for a electric scooter to “go green,” and leave the costly commute behind, that is very different then a very fast or cheap scooter for total fun and enjoyment. Street legal vs. a Razor 2 wheeler your kids would ride down the ally, or to the corner store are COMPLETELY different animals. I have a Razor electric scooter that one may at a glance think is a kids scooter, however it totally rocks, and I LOVE taking it for a spin, to the corner or even grocery store a couple of blocks away. I just throw on my back pack and safety helmet and head off…and I’m 40 years old! Know what you are looking for and why and it will make your buying, and scooter experience a blast for you and whoever will be enjoying it on a day to day basis.
